Today's prompt: Again
GO:
We wake up to hungry cries, arms pulling up and around, sweet sleepy faces snuggled into warm blankets and fresh bottles.
The sun rises again in the East. Again and again it knows it's place and time and job and does exactly what it was created to do.
We move forward, out into the day and do it all again. Daycare, work, school, meals, playing, bedtime, bathtime. The moon rises to say goodnight and those hungry cries, arms snuggled around, sleepy eyes focused on the face of the one who feeds her - we do it all again.
And I wonder where in this circle of "again" do I figure out my place? When does routine and habit become calling? Fulfilling what I was created to do, not what I must do as a responsible adult?
I probably won't figure it out today.
But grace comes new in the morning and I have another chance to try.
So sleepy feet slide into fuzzy slippers and as the sun rises, I'll look to the Son - the one who knows all the answers to my when's, how's, and why's and I'll wait.
And if I don't figure it out today?
I'll try again tomorrow.
Keep at it, sweet friends. Tomorrow is a new day.

Oh, how easy it is for us to get caught up in the responsibility instead of the dreams! Some days I feel like I'm just going through the motions instead of living boldly. But, you are right...tomorrow is another day! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI feel just like you do Christen!
DeletePerhaps it's as simple as "..I'll look to the Son...." May we do so again, and again! Great reminder.
ReplyDeleteLove your words, especially, I'll look to the Son - the one who knows all the answers to my when's, how's, and why's and I'll wait. If only we'd wait . . . !!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to look to the Son too, because I am far from knowing the answers. Beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteYes, I needed to hear this. Yes, I did. Tomorrow, I'll try again. Sweet dreams, friend.
ReplyDelete"Knowing I am called"--love this perspective, Wendy:)
ReplyDeleteSo thankful for another sunrise and second chances.
ReplyDeleteI am always so thankful for another sunrise--another opportunity to learn it all again. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Krystal
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog and from FMF! Thank you, today is one of those days that I needed to be reminded that a new daw is waiting around the corner!
Much love XX
Mia
Finding myself in the again sounds familiar. There can be both a comfort and a longing in the again of everyday life. I am so thankful for both and keep looking forward for another day to give God glory in whatever it is I do, even in the mundane.
ReplyDeletePerfect picture to go with this prompt. Footprints walking back and forth. Excited to meet you through FMF.
ReplyDeleteLove this. I love pursuing the dreams and I'm learning to cherish the mundane responsibilities - because, for me, the responsibilities mean I'm blessed to live for others.
ReplyDeleteCrystal,
ReplyDeletethank you for making me smile in the reading....just lovely. To God be the Glory, again, and again, and again.
Peace and good, sweet sister.
I love the beauty in recognizing the sun is doing exactly what it was made to do...we will find fulfillment in such obedience even as we go through the days of discovering our purpose. Blessings sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteCrystal - I loved this "When does routine and habit become calling?". Oh, yes!
ReplyDeleteI so often wonder when I am going to know what I am meant to do as well. Thank you for your 5 minutes and the remind of keeping going until that time comes.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!

Love your post. "So sleepy feet slide into fuzzy slippers and as the sun rises, I'll look
ReplyDeleteto the Son - the one who knows all the answers to my when's, how's, and
why's and I'll wait." This speaks to me. That is what I do again and again. Most all of us do. However, when we forget to wait, or to seek, this post is a great reminder. Blessings ~Debra
Isn't that the truth! Some of the agains turn out better than others, but it feels like Groundhog Day. So glad that mercies are new every day to pick up and go for it. You'll get there, just hang on, sweet friend,.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post. full of hope. My favorite part: "I'll look to the Son - the one who knows all the answers to my when's, how's, and why's and I'll wait."

This inspires me so much -- both in the way that you approach it and the grace for the days that are not perfect! #Love
ReplyDeleteI love this...I was just thinking today how sometimes routine seems so...just that. But the moments are still sweet and still worth soaking up, even if they're ordinary. :) Thank you for sharing! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo very glad that grace does come anew in the mornings. Beautiful post.
ReplyDelete"When does routine and habit become calling?" I read that sentence about five times over. Man, this is amazing, Crystal. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI feel so privileged to know you. Your humility and the depth of your love for God inspires me -- and that's not even the word. You astound me. And compel me to want God more. Love you!
ReplyDeleteBut grace comes new in the morning... beautiful, Crystal. Just beautiful.
